About

Virginia (Ginny) McGowan PhD is an author, speaker, ghostwriter, editor, and adult educator. As a practicing anthropologist, she applies social science insights and methods to address real-world problems.

 Recently, she turned her sights on organizational culture as a Certified Workplace Relational Skills Practitioner to address civility in the workplace, which she promotes as investment in relational (soft) skills training and transformational leadership. Her latest book is Civil@Work: The Ultimate Guide to Mastering Soft Skills for Business Success (July 2025). In this unique, practical, and evidence-informed book, you'll learn the why and how to master the relational/interpersonal skills that have solid impacts on the bottom line. 

Virginia is also the author of several other books such as Harness the Power of Mentoring: How to Find and Work with the Right Mentor - A Guide for the Solopreneur - Revised Edition (The Business Mentoring Solution Series for Solopreneurs Book 1, rev. ed. 2025), which was a finalist in two international business book awards, and A Metaphoric Mind: Selected Writings of Joseph Couture (2016) that has been downloaded and purchased by thousands of readers.  She's also the author of a children's book, an eco-fable, A Girl, Her Mother, and the Forest: A Love Story (2020), that was short-listed in the PEI Literary Awards, Children's Literature. In addition to writing, she enjoys spending time on other passions and interests such as e-biking, painting, and her beloved grandchildren and Havenese dogs.
